Why We Care: The Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare
Every year, E.A. Sween Company and its product lines are thrilled to support organizations that do so much good work in their communities. In 2020, we’re introducing you to them, and hope you’ll find them as inspirational as we do!
Earlier this year, we talked about the Animal Humane Society, Courage Kenny’s ABLE (Activity-Based Locomotor Exercise) program and the National Military Family Association (NMFA). Rounding out the year of #WhyWeCare is an organization we’re immensely proud to support: Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare.
As its full name indicates, Gillette focuses on specialty healthcare for children. Their work is in researching and treating rare and complicated conditions including cerebral palsy, epilepsy, spina bifida and hydrocephalus, among others. Gillette notes that the word “cure” is not often used in these conditions. But the work they do forwards innovative surgeries, therapies and items like orthotics, prosthetics and seating that help children with these conditions lead happy, productive lives.
“E.A. Sween is thrilled to have supported Gillette since 2012 ,” said Tom H. Sween, E.A. Sween’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “Helping children with these conditions not only survive, but thrive, is a monumental mission. Knowing we are part of a larger effort to give kids higher-quality, happier lives is a testament to the heart of E.A. Sween.”
